United Way Community School
It has been 3 years since Easton Area Middle School has been working towards becoming a Community School. Since our partnership with United Way has started we have made large strides to our goal of becoming a Community School.
United Way has given EAMS and other Community Schools in the district the tools to analyze important data like academics, attendance, and behavior. United Way has worked closely with the Principal and Community School Coordinator to use this data to improve school performance and behavior.
Our Goal as a Community School is to;
- Establish partnerships throughout the community that will provide opportunities and resources for students. Our partnerships include: Communities in School, Family Connection, Easton Bar association, and United Way.
- Establish an Attendance Initiative called Challenge 5 to help improve student attendance
- Adequately support transitions into middle school as well as into high school.
- Support families to help level the playing field for students with higher needs.
Check back frequently for more news and updates on our progress of becoming a community school.
