Proof of Residency

TO: EAMS 7/8 Parents & Guardians
RE: Documentation Required for Address & Busing Changes

A student's address and/or busing shall only be changed with the following documentation being provided to school district personnel. The parent or guardian must present a lease or mortgage*** showing his/her name and any two (2) of the following:

  • Current utility bill(s)
  • Current vehicle registration
  • Current vehicle insurance
  • Current cable or phone bill
  • Current pay stub or tax bill

*** If the parent/guardian does not have a lease/mortgage in his/her name, an affidavit of declaration or support is required. Contact Central Registration for more information on this matter.

A student may have his/her address and/or busing changed with just a current lease or mortgage; however, two (2) other proofs of residency listed above must be remitted within thirty (30) calendar days. District personnel will follow up to ensure compliance with this directive.

Additionally, when a parent enrolls a student in the district via central registration and only provides a lease or a mortgage at that time, a memo will be placed in the cumulative file noting that the parent has been informed that two (2) original proofs of residency must be remitted by the parent or guardian to the school within thirty (30) calendar days. When cumulative files are received at the schools with such a memo contained within, district personnel will follow up with the parent or guardian to ensure that this documentation is provided within thirty (30) calendar days.

Failure to provide the required residency proof may result in a student being withdrawn from the district and tuition being assessed. If you have any additional questions concerning this issue, please contact our central registration office at 610-250-2400, extensions 35097 or 35099, or the Pupils Services Department at extension 35032.
