8th to 9th Grade Transition
The scheduling process should be a collaborative effort between the student, parents, teachers, and school counselors to ensure each student’s individual needs are met. All students in grade 8 will be provided an overview of the course selection process. Parents and families are invited to attend 8th Grade Parent Night to learn about the process as well. The Parent Night presentation will also be made available on the Course Selection website following that presentation.
Students’ selection for the core courses of English, Social Studies, Math, and Science will be completed with their current content area teacher. Students will then select elective courses of their choice. When doing so, students are to make sure they have met all of the prerequisites for that course. It is imperative that parents review these selections with their child. Once students have finished entering their electives, the course selection sheet is to be returned to their History teacher.
